I'M LYNETTE NELSON!

I am an underwater photographer who has been exploring the waters of the ocean for over 30 years, starting after a BFA with an emphasis on photography from Arizona Stare University in 1990. Through school, I developed a passion for capturing the moment. 

I truly began my journey doing underwater photography when I moved to Maui from Alaska in 1997. I have always been fascinated by the beauty of the tropical pacific and wanted to capture it in a way that could be shared with others. Starting out with a simple point-and-shoot camera, I quickly moved up to a professional-quality camera and began selling my work. 

I have traveled to some of the most remote and beautiful places in the world to capture the beauty of the world and hone my craft. I have photographed everything from mountain tops in Alaska to coral gardens in Fiji, to octopus, sharks, starfish in Panama, whale sharks in Maui and many different species in various regions of the world. 

As a Dive Master and underwater photographer I have to continually manage the aspects of diving, the conditions of the water and my camera equipment.  Constantly making sure that my equipment and I are both safe. Photographing Underwater, truly is a more challenging than any other type of photography that I have ever done.
